Music I Love
As I’ve already said, I love music!! I don’t just enjoy it, I mean I really love it. I like to listen to different things depending on my mood. I pay attention to lyrics and I learn them quickly. I also really LOVE to sing. Unfortunately, I’m not a good singer, so I was never able to take that particular passion of mine and use it for good. If I could I would have my headphones in all day long, I really would…another of my coping strategies. I don’t know why but I stay calm when I tune out the rest of the world. Apparently, never being able to hear your children is frowned upon though, so I just listen to music whenever I can…
Anyway, I figured that since you’re here and you’ve read the rest of my nonsense you might also be interested in knowing what I listen to. Currently, I have a little over 3700 songs, but I also have an out-of-control iTunes habit, so the number is constantly growing. It totally depends on the day, but here are a few of my favorites:
Favorite Love Song – “Songbird” by Eva Cassidy
I love Sugarland. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but “All I Want To Do” makes me happy. It’s a great sing a-long song and fun to listen to when I’m getting ready to go out.
There are lots of cheesy light rock songs from the late 70′s and early 80′s that I will always love. I actually could have included many more than I did. Go ahead, admit it, you love them too…if you were scanning through the radio and you heard one, you’d stop and sing, wouldn’t you?
“The Biggest Part of Me” by Ambrosia
“You are the Woman” by Firefall
“Lady” by Little River Band
“I’d Really Love to See You Tonight” by England Dan & John Ford Coley
I do listen to more current music as well. I love Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, Ingrid Michaelson, and Kings of Leon.
“Toes” by Zac Brown Band
“Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum
“Maybe” by Ingrid Michaelson
“Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon
I also usually download whatever dance songs are popular so I can play my iPod at parties in the neighborhood, but that is never the music I choose to listen to on my own…you know like Lady GaGa.
I’m always looking for new stuff to add to my library. I’ve been known to hear a song on a TV show and google a line or two to figure out what it is and then download it. This song came from the episode of “The Office” when Jim and Pam get married.
“Sing” by Travis
“So You Think You Can Dance” has been a great resource and what I love about that show is they tell you what the song is before the dance starts. The Jason Mraz song went to a dance that actually made me cry…(there’s the crazy me again) and I loved the dance to the Joss Stone song. It was just really HOT!
“If It Kills Me” by Jason Mraz
“Put Your Hands on Me” by Joss Stone
This song came from the movie “Knocked Up”. You can probably figure out why it appealed to me if you listen.
“Daughter” by Loudon Wainwright III
Okay, now here’s the part where I admit something a little crazy about myself. I love songs that use bad words. If I’m buying a song on iTunes and I have a choice between “Clean” and “Explicit”, I always choose “Explicit”. I don’t know why, but I like singing them too…maybe it works out my anger, or just makes me feel tough. Like I said, it’s crazy. My favorite song with completely inappropriate lyrics is “Crazybitch” by Buckcherry. Please do not listen if you have children nearby.
Recommendations are always welcome. I have a lot of stuff in my library from bands that I would have never found or even heard of if it hadn’t been for a friend telling me about them. Here’s a few…
“Gotta Have You” by The Weepies
“Ill with Want” by The Avett Brothers
“Lose Some Time” by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
Like I said, I’m open to suggestions. If you have any let me know and I may add it to my page…

Do you get feedback on your songs? I have clicked on every one of these files and they all say File Not Found.

I don’t know why you’re having trouble. Lots of people have commented about the music, but you are the first one who had trouble. Sorry!!
