I don’t know about you, but I thought the season finale of “Grey’s Anatomy” was beyond stressful.  Seventeen minutes in I seriously considered taking a Xanax (leftover from the last time I had to fly).  I didn’t actually do it, I’m just sayin’ the thought crossed my mind.  Anyway, I was gasping and cursing and yelling at the TV for pretty much the entire two hours.  My whole body was tense and I know there were several times when I stopped breathing for a minute or two.  It was exhausting!  The sane side of my brain was telling the crazy side to get over it already, it’s not real.  But of course, the crazy won out…I’m invested in the completely fictitious lives of everyone at Seattle Grace!

I have to say there were some stellar performances in the episode.  Really, I could weep thinking of Bailey when she realized they weren’t going to save Dr. Percy.  I’m usually not a Christina Yang fan, but the way she talked to Meredith before stepping into the OR to save Derek was so honest and real, and Weber’s confrontation with the killer was perfection!!  Oh, and I can’t forget about Dr. Avery, who deserves an award just for being so freaking hot!!  Seriously, that face, that voice, those eyes…especially when he’s wearing a surgical mask.  YUM-O!!

For me there was one moment that stood out above the rest.  A line so profound, that it just may become my new motto.  The crazy thing is that it was Alex Karev that said the words…who knew he was so wise?  He’s lying on the table bleeding profusely, obviously in horrible pain, Sloan and Little Grey are working furiously to keep him alive.  There’s a moment when Alex is facing the fact that he probably won’t survive and he gives Mark Sloan the best deathbed advice I’ve ever heard…”Eat more bacon, have more sex.”  Seriously, people, does it get any better than that?

I’ve never needed an excuse to eat more bacon.  It’s quite possibly the best food ever.  It’s good for breakfast, on a sandwich, in a salad.  I LOVE IT!!  I’m a fan of bacon on Facebook.  The smell of bacon frying makes my mouth water.  If I were on death row my last meal would be a BLT…crispy bacon on white toast with a juicy slice of tomato, lettuce and mayo.  Of course, the problem is it’s really bad for you, so I don’t eat it as much as I would like.  Now I’m wondering why I’ve been depriving myself.  When I am facing the end of my days on earth, am I going to regret all the times I didn’t eat bacon?  Lord knows I’ve got more important things to regret than that!!  From now on when I want bacon, I’m going to eat it…Thank You Alex Karev!!

As for the “have more sex” part of the equation…I get what he’s saying, and I agree.  Relax, have more fun, enjoy this life, it’s the only one you get, but really when do I have time for that?  What the hell, maybe I’ll give it a shot.  Any guy that tells me to eat more bacon, must know what he’s talking about.
